Mobile Patient Care (MPC) offers Non-Emergency Patient Transport primarily in Victoria and New South Wales. We work with a large fleet of ambulances and support our transport services with RFDS aircraft.

MPC provides clinical care for people travelling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital and hospital to home, as well as transport to and from specialist clinics.

About the role

 

The position:

Reporting to the Regional Manager, NSW & Aeromedical, the position of Team Leader – Aeromedical, provides leadership and management of Aeromedical Operations within the Mobile Patient Care (MPC) network to deliver effective aeromedical transportation of NEPT patients in line with regulations, scope of practice and organisational policies & procedures.

 

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with customers, stakeholders & peers to meet service delivery & contractual obligations, including matters related to resource allocation, aircraft & equipment required to facilitate aeromedical transport
  • Coordinating and leading communication and consultation with stakeholders as directed by the Regional Manager NSW & Aeromedical or Head of Service Delivery
  • Holding responsibility for a safe & productive operational workplace for all in accordance with RFDS values & relevant OHS legislation
  • Applying negotiation, persuasion and motivation skills to manage staff and stakeholders
  • Holding responsibility to ensure consistent Flight Nurse staffing and the RFDS South Eastern Section to ensure Pilot, Aircraft and engineering coverage to maintain continuity of service
  • Contributing to Air Operations service delivery policy and development

 

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Understanding of the Non-Emergency Patient Transport industry and associated regulations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ASIC
  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in Aviation management &/or Operations &/or Health Sector desirable
  • Understanding of CASR 91 Regulations and Requirements desirable
  • Demonstrable skills in leadership, stakeholder management and problem solving

 

Please note: intra-state and overnight travel may be required. This position has an on-duty roster with the ability to be contacted and work outside normal business hours.

 

Mandatory requirements:

In line with RFDS Victoria’s mandatory policies, all employees are required to undergo a National Police Clearance, hold a Working with Children Check and have 3 * Covid vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination. This position may subject to further vaccination requirements.
